Eesti lauluvaramu ja iiri rahva needus

Eestlaste seas ringleb juba ligi veerand sajandit kaunis lauluke väidetava pealkirjaga "Sombune pärastlõuna Brüsselis". Kahjuks ei mäleta ma enam, kes oli see teine mees lisaks Lauri Vahtrele, kellega kahe peale nad olla selle kirjutanud. Igatahes teavad laulu praktiliselt kõik, või siis vähemasti refrääni:

EYE ja euromais on yhtne NATO pere,
kel Reagan, Thatcher, Pinochet teeb pai ja ytleb tere.

Kes toona ikka nii väga täpselt teadis, mida Thatcher või Pinochet õigupoolest tegid ja kas nende poliitikail miski vahe ka oli. Vanal hallil nõukogude ajal oli lihtsalt sula rõõm jõurata kõike, mis vähegi riigivastaline tundus. Ja eriti seda, mis tundus just nimelt väheke riigivastaline - kes siis ikka GULAGi igatses, vabaduses on palju mõnusam. Aga Mustamäe köögis või karjamaal laagrilõkke ymber laulda oli tore, kohe kuidagi õilis tunne tuli.

Iirlastel on sellesinase sydamedaami kohta oma laul. Igal oma vaatenurk, eks ole.



Kusjuures huvitaval kombel on selle struktuur pisut sarnane laauluga, ansambel Suveniir laulis nime all "Suur lilleaed" - mõlemad põhinevad riimimängul ja kuulaja ootuste petmisel. See on yks peenike trikk, ehkki tavaliselt meeldib mulle roppustele vihjamine veel vähem kui roppused ise.

Olen vahel ikka mõtelnud, kas Mart Laar mõnikord Thatcherile rääkis ka, et tal ja ta sõpradel kunagi selline idolaatriline laul oli. Mu ema luges mulle just hiljuti Kaalepiga seoses sõnu peale, et vanainimestele tuleb ikka kõik kiitus edasi anda, oodata pole seal midagi. Maggie Thatcheri kohta räägitaksegi, et nyyd olevat juba hilja - aastatega kipuvad inimesed vahel ikka ära väsima, mälu ja tähelepanuvõime pole enam see.

Eks ta kindlasti olnud teatud mõttes kiitust väärt. Laias laastus kippus Lääne poliitikas tõesti nii olema, et vasakpoolsed katsusid ka Nõukogude Venemaaga hästi läbi saada ning parempoolsed ajasid okkad sinnapoole turri. Kui NSV Liidu majandust poleks välja kurnatud, võib-olla hingitseks kadunuke tänini. Mine hullu tea.

Aga maailm on keeruline ja kui mõni kangelane tõesti yksnes kangelane on, pole mina temast veel kuulnud.
